TESSARO
visible energy
of Henry Norbert
Part of the endless energy that pervades the universe appears to have
chosen the hands of maestro Tessaro to make itself visible through his
works of art.
Indeed it is a powerful and exciting energy that pervades the matter of
his sculptures and the lines of his drawings.
Many artists have been capable of depicting the movements of their chosen
subjects, many have captured their yearning, their breathing, their movements,
but few have been capable of extracting their strength and energy from
static matter, as maestro Tessaro has managed to do.
In the powerful strokes that engrave his sculptures, there appears to
flow a lifeblood that allows not only a three-dimensional interpretation
of his work, but also a physical perception of movement and effort that
makes the observer not just a simple spectator but a player involved in
the event he depicted.
And it is not by chance that some of maestro Tessaro's favourite themes
are horses and bulls, both these animals having always inspired the greatest
artists, due both to the implicit difficulty to depict them and the power,
strength and vitality they express.
And it is especially in his sculptures of bulls that the evocative power,
which maestro Tessaro manages to transmit to the matter, emerges clear
and unequivocal; their hoofs digging into the ground in a wait laden with
tension, the contracted muscles in readiness for the charge, their nostrils
dilated by their breath full of adrenalin until, if by magic, the spectator
is presented with the spectacle of an arena hosting the ancient and bloody
ritual of bull-fighting.
In this search for the transfusion of life into lifeless matter, there
had to be the depiction of the female body, source and shrine of human
life, inspirer of deep passions and yearnings.
And emotion is certainly the strongest feeling that hits the observer
confronted by maestro Tessaro's sculptures. An emotion experienced in
the awe of a dream coming true, in the transformation of what the artist
sees in the model's body into what the sculptor feels, through his emotions,
his fantasies and his deeper feelings.
After all, what shocks the observers of maestro Tessaro's works is the
inability to be just spectators, however impressed by his obvious technical
skills, and the will to become active players involved in an always exciting
and never trivial event and bound to experience total immersion in a universe
of raw energy.
